Forensic Science Workshop 2026
Year 5 and 6 were treated to a Forensic Science workshop as part of our Science Week celebrations. They took part in a range of activities to find their fingerprint type, extract DNA, name body parts with developing scientific terminology as well as analyse a 'crime scene'. As part of this, Mr Gay explained what DNA was and its importance in our lives and the field of forensics. It was inspiring to learn about what subjects and qualifications are needed to be qualified to become an investigator using this type of science. This really linked to Year 6's learning this week about the scientists Rosalind Franklin and Francis Crick.
