Year 6 Leavers Mass

The Mass is the most important gift we have as Catholics and so it is how we start a school year and finish our school year. This end of year Mass is traditionally known as the leavers Mass for the year 6 pupils. Fr Dan as part of the tradition calls up the Year 6 children and asks the rest of the school to say one word about the year 6 children. It was wonderful to hear the younger children speak so positively of the children saying words like, inspirational, kind, helpful, hardworking, brave and many more. As the children leave St Joachim's they are each gifted with a simple prayer book, which is personally in, scripted and is given so that they may take forth the Catholic prayers and practices into their new school life.
