Year 2 Litter Pick

As part of their work on Catholic Social Teaching, the Year 2 children took part in a litter-picking activity inspired by the teachings of Laudato Si'. Before beginning, the children were introduced to the key messages of Laudato Si' and learned why Pope Francis calls us to care for our common home. We discussed how looking after the environment is an important way of showing respect for God's creation and helping our community.

The litter pick provided a practical opportunity for the children to put these ideas into action. Through this activity, they learned that even small actions can make a big difference and that everyone has a responsibility to care for the world around them.

We were delighted to have parents involved in this activity. It was wonderful to work together with families in sharing this important message of stewardship and care for creation. The children showed great enthusiasm and pride in helping to keep our local environment clean and beautiful.
