Our Lady of Grace Year 6 Transition Day

As part of preparing children for secondary school life, the schools of Our Lady of Grace Catholic academy Trust come together at Chigwell Row to provide all the Year 6 children a chance to meet up with children from other schools to establish early friendships and effectively 'melt the ice' prior to them attending their new secondary school. This is a day packed with fun activities based on themes such as communication, resilience, perseverance and so on. The children are set various tasks and challenges that requires them to interact with children from the other schools. The day is supported by pupils from St Bonaventure's and St Angela's who lead the year 6 groups through the activities. The day is rounded off in traditional Catholic style with a Mass in a giant marquee where each school contributes to the celebration. The children thoroughly enjoy the day and many have said it has helped them to make friends in advance of starting secondary school.
